Job Description
?RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in feasibility studies to define the SW architecture for new embedded gateways and services: customer requirement analysis, translation of high-level specifications into a detailed SW design, provide input for SW development plans.
You perform in a team of SW engineers, interacting with project managers and technical customer contacts.
- SW design/development/deployment of embedded C/C++ applications for next generation gateway platforms with good knowledge of scheduling, memory management, with embedded Linux.
- Through a focus on the finished article and adjusted structures, an optimal development environment is created for consumer products. The development is done in a project-oriented matrix organization, which is dynamically adapted to the high-speed market and product development needs.
- Short international business trips possible.
Profile
?EDUCATION:
- Master Computer Science/ Electronics/ Informatics.
?EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant experience in embedded SW development for at least 5 years
- Experience in network programming and knowledge of TCP/IP.
- Experience with the GNU toolchain (gcc, gdb), Lauterbach.
- Experience with ClearCase is a plus.
?LANGUAGE:
- Dutch, Fluent English is mandatory.
?TECHNICAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Strong skills in C, MIPS assembly, scripting languages, shell.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux operating system (scheduling, threads, processes, locking, memory management) on an embedded device and more in general operating system concepts.
- Excellent testing and debugging skills (both kernel and user space)
- Good communication skills on technical matters and able to work in a collaborative environment.
- Able to coach colleagues in case of a group assignment.
