Larry Rupp has landed

29 April 2010 No Comment

A few Thursdays back during the job announcements there was one from 20/20 Companies for a National Retail Sales Trainer. As it happened that particular day I arrived early (a rare occurrence driving from Granbury!) and sat in one of the front tables, to my left was Angie Whitehorn whom I previously met at both the SFC and Fort Worth Career Search Network meetings. When the trainer job was announced I blew it off as I felt I was not qualified, about this time Angie smacked me on my left shoulder and said, “Hey, you can do that”.

After the roundtable and thinking about it for a couple of hours I decided, she’s right, I can do this. By this time, the lady who announced the position was long gone but she left the info on the back counter. I reached out to 20/20 Companies that afternoon, I had a phone interview on April 12th a 5 person panel interview on April 15th (tax day, which I thought was a bad omen) where I had to do a formal presentation using PowerPoint to the group. I received the job offer on April 22nd (Earth Day, good omen!) and start on May 3rd.

It has been eleven months in my search and I am very excited to be helping people start in their sales career. Corporate America has been good to me and my family and I am glad to be giving back.

I thank God for listing to my prayers and both the SFC & Fort Worth Career Search Network groups for all of your help. God certainly taught me patience during this ordeal but it all worked out. Don’t give up hope, there is a job out for you just keep searching and talking to people. I will pass any and all jobs along that I come across.

Larry
