Senior Software Team Lead / Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ensure the development team (5-8 members) is able to meet company objectives

• Keep project schedules current, and communicate scheduling and product delivery information to executives and other departments

• Ensure Technical specifications are documented

• Assist in preparing monthly Product Management Committee documentation

• Work with executive management, Project managers, development partners, Architects, Business Analysts and other departments to prepare and communicate product release plans

• Interact with development partners, business analysts, and developers towards defining and reaching milestones

• Establish and maintain partner relationships with customers in order to gather requirements, get feedback on product, and coordinate acceptance testing efforts

• Work closely with Business Analysts to prepare designs, workflows and Technical Requirements

o Guide the technical direction for the development staff

o Drive test-driven development (TDD), and implement automated build processes

• Manage, prioritize, and schedule development of new products and product enhancements

• Mentor employees and assist in Monitoring employee performance

• Work closely with Quality Analysts to ensure proper test plans are prepared, executed and their results analyzed for appropriate next steps

• Ensure product is tested timely and comprehensively, in compliance with product release schedules Function as subject-matter expert for internal, and external, clients

• Assist in training the Implementation and Product Support teams on product updates

• Participate in creation of training and implementation plans for products

• Ability and inclination to DEVELOP SOFTWARE AS AND WHEN REQUIRED is critical

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ ABILITIES

The following are required:

• Minimum 7 years experience in Software Development

• Minimum 3 years experience developing software on the Microsoft Platform, including .NET(ASP.NET, C#, ADO.Net, Web Services, Remoting, Report writers, 3rd party controls, etc.) and SQL server

• Working knowledge of Windows Workflow, and WCF

• Exposure to open source frameworks

• Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership or management role

• Direct experience in scheduling and managing software development

• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven technical writing abilities

• Interpersonal skills in dealing with employees, other departments, and upper management

• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Team-oriented thinking with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work as part of a fastpaced, dynamic team

• Strong project management skills, effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Overtime may be required to meet departmental deadlines The following are preferred but are not required

• Knowledge of modern software development methodologies and processes including Agile methodologies

• Experience in presenting product features, benefits, and differentiators to audiences of all levels
