I wanted to let you know that I have landed. I have accepted a position with Atmos Energy and I start Tuesday, September 7th. I will be the Vice President of HR for their Mid-Tex region. I had hoped to bring doughnuts and give you this news in person – however, I’ve been unable to make it there.

I haven’t been able to attend the HRCareerNetworking meetings since mid-July. I began interviewing with two different companies during the last week of July (one was Atmos) and it seems every Wednesday morning in August that I had an interview during the network meeting time. I received my offer from Atmos two weeks ago and had plans to come to the network meeting, but just last week my sister’s husband was diagnosed with stage four cancer – so each of the last two Wednesday mornings I have been assisting them at the hospital, etc.

I want to thank you and Lourdes for all you do to assist HR professionals in transition. I have been extraordinarily blessed to have found a new position within a little over 90-days of loosing my previous position. I will always count the two-plus months I spent attending the HR Career Networking meetings as a real blessing. The encouragement, support, advice, and job leads I received really helped me regain my career “sea legs” and helped me through a difficult time. The warm and welcoming atmosphere you establish for this group cannot be overstated.

Thanks again for all you do. I know I owe the group some doughnuts and will try to make good on that at some point.
