I have accepted a full time position with Cooperative Industries Aerospace in
Fort Worth as the Materials Manager, a supply chain function responsible for
forecasting, scheduling, procurement and warehouse functions.
Cooperative Industries is an aerospace company that has been in
business for 65 years and never had a layoff.
I found this position on
Work in Texas website and received an offer within a week of sending my resume
in.
I will begin my new role on Monday, March 19th.

I just wanted to send everyone a quick update to let you know
that I have landed at FedEx Office.  As many of you know I‘ve been doing
consulting work for them during the last six months.  They made me an offer on a
permanent position and after some negotiation, we came to an agreement.  I
started working as a Sr. Financial Systems Analyst.  My role is acting as a
project manager implementing an Oracle Retail Inventory Management System out to
their 1900 FedEx Office Print and Ship Centers.  Once it is rolled out, I’ll be

After a complicated, seemingly aimless journey that suddenly hit a brick
wall
in July of 2011 it seems that the fates have again smiled on me. I’d
all but
given up looking for meaningful employment after what I thought
would be a
promising future in the automotive industry came to a screeching
halt by an
unpredictable turn of events. Being denied any sort of
unemployment, I
literally sent out hundreds of applications looking for
work. All that effort
yielded ONE phone interview. I had become severely
depressed.

mid week, last week, I got a LinkedIn invitation to connect along
with a

My appologies for being so late in my official announcement.  As many of you
know I landed a new/old gig back in late January, and started on February
1.
I went back to work for an employer I left four years ago, Medical
Doctor Associates.  I’m responsible for sales of contracts to Emergency
Departments and the recruiting of locum tenens Emergency Medicine
physicians.
It is great to be back to work.  The job hunt was getting

Last Friday I had a phone interview with Southwest Airlines
(SWA) for a project manager position that I thought went very well.  The
connection was made through APEX Systems, Inc., a staffing and consulting
company.  I felt like the hiring director at SWA and I connected on many levels:
humble background, work ethic, sense of humor, management style, appreciation
for the project management profession, and strong interpersonal skills that do
well in the Southwest culture.  Since she was the final decision maker she said

Some of you might have seen my post on the SFG board as
well, I met such wonderful people in our HR group at Cornerstone Baptist Church
on Nolen Road, I wish I could thank everyone individually. You have all been a
blessing to me and I pray you will all find the perfect fit very soon.
I am
very excited to let everyone know that I have landed at GameStop Corporate in
Grapevine in the HR Department as part of their Benefits team. I am sure it is
going to be a great opportunity.

I was part of a reduction in force in September of last year from Southwest
Corporate Federal Credit Union, the company I had been with for 23 years. What a
shock! In October I started going to SFG meetings, where I learned a great deal
about the search process – resume writing, social media, networking, etc. One
example of valuable help came from Bonnie Dangel, who gave me some excellent
feedback on my resume.
