The Director of Retail Merchandise & Planning works in collaboration with the EVP of Food & Beverage to develop strategies, activation plans and processes relative to retail merchandise sales. The role will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional partners to manage retail merchandise sales including business planning, product procurement and fulfillment, promotional campaigns and other marketing elements relative to specialty merchandise sales.


  • Design and execute programs that create demand for products and promote sales via retail activation.
  • Work with relevant studio / consumer goods personnel to source products, manage distribution, promotion and sales of products
  • Oversee and manage communication to theatre personnel of product programs (product distribution, promotional materials and sales results)
  • Evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement and test Specialty Retail initiatives
  • Aligns with EVP, Food & Beverage and Finance to set campaign performance standards and tracks progress against expectations.
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical business plans with other members of the cross-functional team supporting a Specialty Retail strategy
  • Working with internal teams to identify merchandise opportunities to expand assortments or develop strategic partnerships
  • Generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase retail merchandise sales and profitability
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with studio/consumer goods leads
  • Identify new areas of specialty retail sales opportunity beyond current organizational thinking
  • Develop and maintain product ordering metrics, forecasting of merchandise movement and conversion rates

  • 7+ years of merchandise product management experience in consumer marketplaces (retail store focus with online sales experience beneficial)
  • Proven experience in leading successful retail sales in a complex, multi-channel environment
  • Knowledge of e-commerce technology is desirable
  • Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting test results & drawing conclusions
  • Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities; Excel proficiency
  • Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives; think strategically and deep dive into details
  • Ability to develop and mentor others. Leadership skills. Ability to drive strategic direction. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to influence others.
