Job Description

The Human Resources Manager will provide HR support to multiple facilities remotely, and is responsible for ensuring effective employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, training, safety and employee engagement strategies. This position will be based out of our distribution center located in south Dallas, TX (off of I-20, between Rt. 67 and I-35E). The ideal candidate has a solid background in employee relations, recruitment and building relationships; they are committed to results and a desire to help others succeed. 

Responsibilities:

Work is typically performed under no supervision, with only guidance about overall goals and objectives. Usually receive minimal to no guidance about how to complete work objectives. Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short term and long term goals of the department. Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate in to overall work objectives.

  • Responsible for providing HR guidance to all employees to insure consistent adherence to HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Responsible for pro-active employee relations, communication; serves as an internal advisor to the leadership teams on matters pertaining to HR.
  • Effectively support and foster the company's Open Door Policy.
  • Administer the employment function: posting jobs, screening applicants, facilitating the use of any temporary employment agencies and managing the applicant tracking system. 
  • Serve as the location's Leave of Absence coordinator, providing guidance to employee on the LOA/FMLA/STD/LTD process.
  • Lead the Worker's Compensation Insurance program, including making recommendations to facilitate the timely closing of claims.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in all training activities within the facility (i.e. safety compliance, orientation programs, job knowledge, and leadership performances).
  • Maintain all personnel records in accordance with EEO and Affirmative Action obligations, privacy, and related requirements. Advise management teams regarding prompt and accurate completion of all status changes and in assuring prompt and accurate updated information in the HRIS system.
  • Promote working together with all departments to build continual improvement within the company.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned by the Corporate HR Manager and site VP.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or Psychology or related field, OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.  
  • 4-7 years of progressive HR work experience to include recruiting and staffing, strong employee relations, and change management.
  • Solid knowledge of general employment laws, recruitment, EEO and Affirmative Action Planning.
  • Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate Able to communicate clearly a message that is understood by employees at all levels.
  • Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
  • Proficient with operating a PC, utilizing Microsoft Windows, and proficient with other technical tools used to complete completing assignments. 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in warehousing/distribution or manufacturing preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting other sites remotely.
