Nucor Steelmaking Group (SMG) Services, which provides technical support for various steelmaking divisions within Nucor Corporation, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Level 2 Process Analyst to assist in supporting the interaction between Steel Production and the Oracle ERP solution.

The Level 2 Process Analyst’s role is to safely develop and maintain the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems throughout the steel manufacturing facility. This includes troubleshooting, repair and the constant pursuit of process improvement. The Level 2 Process Analyst supports plant operations and works closely with the rest of the Steelmaking Group to accomplish production and business interactive goals. The successful candidate must be able to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork.

This is a fulltime, permanent position with the SMG Services Team based in Irving, TX. Travel to division locations through the remainder of the project implementation period will be required. 

Candidate should display:

  • Experience with Rolling Mill Models controlling Gauge, Shape and Cooling
  • Experience with High Level Programming Languages such as C
  • Knowledge of Data Analysis Techniques
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and able to work effectively with users in remote locations

  1. Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship both now and in the future
  2. Experience or training with Automation Systems and maintenance
  3. Strong technical skills with a good understanding of industrial PLC logic and programming
  4. 5 years’ experience working in a steel manufacturing environment

  1. Four-year engineering degree OR five years of related experience in Computer Integrated Manufacturing
  2. Advanced automation equipment background and skills
  3. Knowledge of Hot Mill and Cold Mill processes
  4. Demonstrated understanding of automation in manufacturing
  5. Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and programming fundamentals
  6. Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) / Oracle Database (PL/SQL)
